History

Official Launching of Infection Control Nurses Chapter
The Infection Prevention and Control Nurses Chapter Singapore was officially launched on 21 September 1991 at Mount Alvernia Hospital. The launch was officiated by Ms Susie Kong, then President of the Singapore Nurses Association.

During the inaugural event, Dr David Allen from Singapore General Hospital delivered a keynote presentation highlighting the growing importance of infection prevention and control in healthcare.

Since its establishment, the chapter has continued to support healthcare professionals in strengthening infection prevention practices across acute, community and long-term care settings in Singapore.
