The symbol that represents our chapter and its values.
Tree has many symbolic meanings including life, strength and protection. The branches are extending upward and outward in an organic, flowing style to symbolize growth and transformation.
Red and yellow are chosen for the colours of the leaves because they represent passion, hope and vibrancy.
Stethoscope reflects that our nursing practice are rooted in clinical training, and book represents our thirst for knowledge.
Finally, the trunk is wholly supported by a pair of hands to illustrate nurturing and our beliefs in healing and touching the lives of others.

Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs) play a pivotal role in the advanced care landscape locally and globally. APN is a Registered Nurse (RN) who has acquired the expert knowledge base, complex decision-making skills and clinical competencies for extended practice (SNB, 2020). In Singapore, APN education was established since 2003, and today there are 378 registered APNs under SNB.
Healthcare system is evolving fast, bring all APNs together is important to continuing support APNs professional development.
Hence, a proposal to establish a APNC under SNA was developed in Aug 2024.
We aim to support APNs professional development and foster a community of practice. At the same time, to share the best practices and collaboratively develop new evidenced practice and practice guides to improve care and healthcare system in Singapore.
