Mission
The mission of O & G Chapter is to promote and advance the continued quality of midwifery and nursing care and to provide health education to the family as a whole. To achieve this aim, it encourages its members to maintain high standards of practice, education, research and administration through continuing education and commitment to the profession.
The 15- member committee manages the Chapter on behalf of its members. It is responsible for submitting a report of events and activities to the SNA Executive Council at each Annual General meeting. The committee’s main role is to organise activities to meet the objectives of the Chapter. The members of the committee are elected biannually.

Birth of a Chapter
The Chapter was mooted by Miss Lee Yoke Lan in September 1993 and officially launched on 2 October 1993 with a seminar at the Concord Hotel. Miss Susie Kong graced the occasion and gave the Chapter official recognition.
Criteria for Membership
- Members must be registered with the Singapore Nurses Association as full or associate members.
- All registered midwives
- Members must be working in an O & G setting.
Logo
The Chapter’s Logo was created by one of the members and comprises a mother and child closely linked. The figures focus in midwifery and gynaecological care.
The color blue was chosen to depict the calm and serene environment in which these important people should be cared for. The gold trimming symbolizes the sterling quality of care we continuously strive for.
