SNA launched the post-registration Bachelor of Nursing course with La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia in October 1997. The first group graduated in August 1998.

This programme is designed to enable experienced Registered Nurses to expand their knowledge
base in the discipline of nursing and apply this
to their practice without leaving home. It is
being conducted over 20 months by distance learning with assessment briefings for each
subject. Study guides, required readings and activities are supplied ahead of these briefings.
To ensure that the standard is maintained, an Education Audit Committee was formed to

                                                                     the progress of the programme.
